Sapida

Find the foods behind your symptoms. Log meals in plain English, track how you feel, and let on-device analysis spot your triggers.

For iPhone · iOS 26 or later

Everything you need to connect food and symptoms

Sapida keeps logging fast enough to do every day, and does the pattern-finding for you.

Log meals in plain English

Type or speak "porridge with banana and a flat white" — on-device Apple Intelligence splits it into foods with portions and nutrition. Your description never has to leave your phone.

Scan barcodes & labels

Point the camera at a barcode or a nutrition label. Around 20,000 common products are built into the app, so most scans work instantly and offline — Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central fill in the rest, with results that favour products actually sold in your country and the foods you log most.

Track symptoms your way

Bristol scale, severity sliders for bloating, pain, fatigue and more — plus custom symptoms for anything else you want to watch.

Spot ingredient & FODMAP triggers

Sapida compares how you felt after eating an ingredient with how you felt otherwise, and tests whether the difference is bigger than chance would produce — down to individual ingredients and FODMAP groups, all computed on your device. Settings explains what each method does, and what it can't tell you.

Daily nutrition at a glance

Calories, protein, carbs, fat and fibre totalled each day against targets you set — fibre included as a first-class macro, not an afterthought.

Works with Apple Health

Sleep, activity, workouts and resting heart rate from Apple Health sit alongside your log, so you can tell a bad night from a bad meal. Turn on nutrition sharing and the calories, protein, carbs, fat and fibre you log are written back to Health too — it's off until you ask for it.

Free and Sapida+

The diary is free and stays free — logging, scanning, symptoms, FODMAP badges, your nutrition dashboard, Apple Health and a full CSV or JSON export of everything you have logged, with no entry limits and nothing taken away later. Sapida+ adds the analysis on top: it comes with a free trial, then a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase if you'd rather not subscribe at all. Current prices are shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy.

Private by design

Your food diary, symptoms and health data are stored on your device — Sapida has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no servers of its own. Thousands of foods are built into the app, so most lookups never leave your phone; when one does, it's just a food name or barcode — plus the country your device is set to, so results match your shelves — sent to a nutrition database. Apple Health data is read and written on-device only. Read the full privacy policy.
